Meet Trudy Robertson

Trudy Robertson counselorTrudy Robertson co-founded Alternative Resources for Kids, Inc. with her husband David in 1981.  They created treatment plans focused on natural foods and behavior modification to bring about the desired change in behaviors deemed necessary for the teens to re-enter society. Homes for teen boys, girls and sexual offenders were opened within twelve years.

After earning her M.A. in Pastoral Counseling and Psychology from Ashland Seminary, Trudy (again with her husband David) opened Anchor Counseling Services.  During that tenure she was able to help both women and men overcome issues relating to depression, abuse, anxiety and relational issues.

After becoming empty-nesters (and another career as property developers and managers) David and Trudy moved to Carmel, Indiana and Wholeness for You, Inc. was established in 2002.

Trudy currently works in the Carmel office and specializes in counseling with abused women. She has worked extensively with Dissociative disorders and emotional abuse issues.

Having been trained in the traditional Cognitive/Behavioral/Psychotherapeutic methodologies Trudy also incorporates complementary healing modalities into her therapy.  Currently, the Psychological community is embracing the spiritual approach to healing as well.  This includes therapies that recognize the unseen energetic fields of the human being.  These subtle energies actually hold negative emotional energy and influence our thinking and behavioral patterns.

With many ways to help people transition from unhealthy lifestyles into more satisfying and loving behaviors, Trudy is able to facilitate this change in a timely fashion. Conscious and unconscious core beliefs systems are the usual causal factors in emotional discomfort.  Therefore, part of Trudy’s focused approach utilizes the client’s investment in their own belief system and the change that would need to take place to facilitate the stated goal of the client.
